Public engagement is a critical component of the civic process. The City Council of the City of Grand Junction values the input it receives from members of the public during meetings and has made changes to the format of City Council meetings to make it easier for the public to comment.
The following changes to City Council meetings are now in effect:
- City Council Pre-Meetings are now held at 5:20 P.M. in the City Hall Auditorium
- City Council Meetings now start at 5:30 P.M. in the City Hall Auditorium
City Council has also reordered the agenda to allow for citizen comments to come earlier in the agenda out of respect for the time of each individual. The Citizen Comments portion of the agenda will now immediately follow the pledge of allegiance and invocation/moment of silence.
Unable to attend a City Council meeting, but want to make your voice heard? These are some additional ways to contribute:
- Call and leave a message with Council: call the City Council line at 244-1504 and leave a voicemail message. Please specify that the message is intended for the Council meeting. Messages will be played and entered into the record at the next Council meeting.
- Email City Council: email City Council at firstname.lastname@example.org. While not entered into the record as a citizen comment, emails are ready by City Council.
As a reminder, the City Council meets in the City Hall Auditorium on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month and holds workshops on Mondays preceding the official meetings. Agendas and minutes of meetings can be found on our website.
