Tiara Rado Golf Course Hosts Sinclair Rocky Mountain Open

The Sinclair Rocky Mountain Open Golf Tournament, the longest running continuous, open golf tournament in the state of Colorado, is celebrating its 82nd year in 2020. The Rocky Mountain Open is a professional tournament that raises money for the Colorado Mesa University Athletics Department. To date, the tournament has contributed more than $120,000 to Colorado Mesa University athletics department for scholarships and other needs. This year’s Pro-Am will take place on Thursday, August 20th followed by tournament play, which tees off Friday, August 21st – Sunday, August 23rd.

The 2020 tournament will adhere to health guidelines for the safety of all players, spectators and staff.

The RMO began in 1939 as the first golf tournament in Western Colorado where both amateur and professional golfers could compete together for their own prizes. The tournament was originally played over two days at the Lincoln Park Golf Course and was sponsored by the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce. Today, the tournament is played over four days at Tiara Rado Golf Course.
