The City of Grand Junction would like to invite the community to attend one of the Parks, Recreation, Open Space (PROS) Master Plan Kick-Off Public Forums on either Tuesday, July 14 at 6:00 P.M. or Thursday, July 16 at 10:00 A.M. Both meetings will be held at the Lincoln Park Barn (south of the stadium). These kick-off meetings will allow the community to provide feedback that will help shape the final plan, which will guide priorities for the next 5-8 years.
Two meetings are being hosted to help minimize large gatherings and will cover the same content in both meetings and residents should only attend one. The large area within the Barn enable this meeting to be held with adequate room for attendees to practice social distancing. The City of Grand Junction encourages all attendees to wear face coverings.
The PROS Master Plan will assess and inventory the parks, recreation, and open space system and identify the greatest needs, including open space and outdoor and indoor recreational facilities. The results from the PROS Master Plan will help guide priorities to improve the system. A Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) grant was secured at the end of 2019 of $56,250, which is paying for half of the cost of the plan.
We look forward to seeing you at the kick-off meetings!
