Lincoln Park Pool Opening & Modified Summer Activity Guide

The City of Grand Junction is excited to announce the opening of the Lincoln Park Pool starting Saturday, June 27.  The community hub will open with a capacity limit of 175. In the event capacity is reached, guests will be restricted to two hours of swim time.  Some services will not be open such as swim lessons, water slide, splash pad, showers and diving boards. These amenities are planned to reopen with a later reopening phase.

Lap swimming, water walking and self-guided water aerobics (please bring your own equipment) will be available 6:30am-11:30am M-F.  Reservations are required by calling 254.3848 or reserving online. In the afternoons, public open swim and lap swimming will be available on a first come, first serve basis from 12pm to 7:30pm.  See page 22 of the Summer Guide for more information.

Guests coming to the pool will be encouraged to wear masks, especially while entering and exiting the facility.  Once capacity is reached, patrons may wait for long periods of time until they are admitted.  We ask for your patience as we comply with the capacity limit needed to enable social distancing, which needs to be maintained as much as possible.  To aid in this effort, markings on the pool deck, grass and sidewalk will provide guidance on distancing from others.  Patrons should arrive wearing their swim attire as gathering in the restrooms should be held to a minimum. Additional cleaning and other safety measures will be actively employed to promote cleanliness and distancing.

In addition to the pool opening, currently available services are described in the modified Summer Activity Guide. This guide reflects the latest information on services currently being offered, such as the Summer Camp program, Adult Softball (registration deadline June 29) and shelter reservations, which have resumed as of June 26 with a limit of up to 50 people.  This modified Summer Activity Guide is now available online.

The following components of the Parks & Recreation system remain open:

  • The 36 parks, 900 acres of Open Space and 20+ miles of trails, are open. Court facilities, including pickleball, tennis, basketball and playgrounds, are open.
  • Many other programs are available such as contracted programs and field/facility rentals up to 50 people (players plus spectators).
  • Use of the fields is limited to local teams only and youth sport games and tournaments are not allowed.
  • Drinking fountains, restroom facilities and hand washing stations remain open.
  • Lincoln Park Stadium, the Orchard Mesa Pool and the Senior Center remain closed.

As more parks and recreation facilities reopen, the City requests that users continue to practice proper social distancing, wash or sanitize hands frequently, wear masks, and to not gather in groups greater than 50.

To register, please go to or call (970) 254-3866. Residents may also visit the Parks & Recreation office located at 1340 Gunnison Avenue. Parks & Recreation offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (closed noon-1:00 P.M.).
