City Provides Cloth Masks to Employees

In accordance with Governor Polis’ request that all citizens of Colorado wear face masks when out in their communities for essential business, the City is providing all employees with a cloth mask to be worn while working for the purpose of preventing the spread of COVID-19 within the organization and the community.

Generally, employees will be required to wear masks when traveling to and from the workplace, in meetings, or when interacting with any member of the public. First responders will generally also wear masks during routine contact with citizens and will wear medical grade masks when interacting with someone showing signs of illness.

Certain exemptions do apply, and residents may see certain police and fire personnel not wearing masks while in operation of their assigned vehicles, communicating over radios or driving to and from incidents.

Employees will be provided guidance on how to wear and care for the City-provided cloth mask. An employee may wear a mask other than that issued by the City if the employee receives prior approval from a supervisor. Any mask used by employees will provide coverage of an employee’s mouth and nose when worn.

This policy will remain in effect until terminated by the City Manager.
