The City of Grand Junction is focused on and committed to the wellbeing of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The City is committed to putting measures in place to make sure that we continue to provide the core municipal services the community expects from the City of Grand Junction.
Supporting the Economy – The economy in Grand Junction is important for everyone in the community. The City is working with our economic development partners to develop solutions to the economic issues the community currently faces.
Special Council Meeting – City Council will be holding a special Council meeting on Monday, March 23 at 6:00 P.M. During this meeting, City Council will discuss an economic support package to help the Grand Junction economy mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as a policy to allow Councilmembers to participate remotely in City Council meetings.
Continuation of Core Municipal Services – The City of Grand Junction remains committed to providing core municipal services to our community and continue to focus of preparedness for our organization and the community. As a result, the City is responsibly managing its resources and implementing safety measures for employees to lower risk of infection. City employees utilize these best practices to ensure our core municipal services are provided:
- Social distancing in the workplace
- Vigilant cleaning of City facilities
- Teleworking options for City employees
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) for first responders and public safety personnel
- Implementing and updating our pandemic flu plan
We also are committed to keeping our citizens up to date with timely information about how our agency is evolving to meet the needs of the community. This includes providing opportunities for feedback on the needs of our citizens.
