City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

7th Street Reconstruction – Orchard Avenue to Patterson Road Project

  • Construction continues along the western half of 7th Street
  • Walnut & Bookcliff Avenues will be closed intermittently west of 7th Street
  • Expect lane shifts, closures and delays
  • All business and resident access will be provided
  • All businesses remain open during construction – don’t forget to support your local businesses!

Monument Road Trail Project

  • Monument Road Shoulder work south of S. Redlands Road
  • Intermittent lane closures and traffic delays can be expected
  • A portion of the Lunch Loop trails are closed
  • Informational signs will be posted in the parking lot and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Sewer & Water Line Replacement Project

  • Sewer & Water line replacements will occur in the following areas:
    • S. 9th Street will be closed to through traffic between Kimball Avenue and 3rd Avenue
    • 15th Street will be closed to through traffic between Winters Avenue and D Road
  • All business and resident access will be provided
  • Anticipated Completion – November.

Riverside Park Improvement Project

  • Riverside Park Drive is now permanently closed between W. Colorado and Hale Avenue
  • A well-marked vehicle and bicycle detour will be in place
  • Anticipated completion – November.

Roadway Striping Project

  • Roadway striping will occur in the following areas:
    • South Camp Road from South Broadway to Monument Road
    • Hwy 340 from 1st Street to Power Road 
    • Redlands Parkway/South Broadway from Hwy 340 to E 1/2 Road
  • Please do not cross wet paint
  • Expect delays.

Raw Waterline Project from City Water Plant to Las Colonias Business Park

  • Pipe laying continues along 26 1/4 Road, south of Hwy. 50 (roadway adjacent to cemetery)
  • Work hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Alternating one lane traffic with up to 15-minute delays can be expected
  • Anticipated completion for this phase of construction – September.

Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

Orchard Avenue Reconstruction from Normandy Drive to 29 Road – Mesa County Project

  • Orchard Avenue will be closed to through traffic 24/7
  • Detour route will be in place
  • Access will be maintained for local residents at all times
  • Anticipated completion – November.

30 Road from I-70 Business Loop to Patterson Road (F Road) Waterline Replacement Project – Ute Water Project

  • 30 Road will have intermittent single lane traffic in each direction between Patterson Road and I-70B
  • Access will be provided for local residents and businesses
  • Delays can be expected
  • Anticipated completion – December.

Gas Line Construction from 1100 Independent Avenue to 2331 River Road – Public Service Company of Colorado Project

  • Gas Line Construction will continue along the westbound lane of Riverside Parkway from the 25 Road overpass to approx. one half mile west of the 24 Road overpass
  • Expect alternating one lane traffic with moderate delays 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Saturday
  • All business access will remain open
  • Anticipated completion – October.

Greenbelt Drive Between 22 ½ Road and Redlands Parkway, Storm Drainage Project – Mesa County Project

  • Starting Monday Greenbelt Drive will be closed to thru traffic daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Detour route will be in place
  • Access for local residents will be provided
  • For access to Broadway Elementary School, please use 22 ½ Road
  • Anticipated Completion – Friday, September 20.

   22 Road between J Road and K Road, Waterline Replacement Project – Ute Water

  • Starting Wednesday, 22 Road will be closed to through traffic, opening back up for the evenings and weekends
  • Work hours will be 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Mon. – Fri.
  • Access will be provided for local residents at all times
  • A well-marked detour will be in place
  • Anticipated completion – November 2019.
