City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

29 Road and Unaweep Avenue, Relocation of Utilities in Advance of Signal Installation – Xcel Energy, Spectrum & CenturyLink Work

  • Expect lane shifts and traffic delays
  • Flaggers will be on site to assist motorists
  • Please slow down through construction zone
  • Work hours will be 7am – 5pm, Monday – Friday
  • Anticipated completion for the utility work – mid March.


Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

Broadway and Redlands Parkway, Relocation of Utilities in Advance of Roundabout Construction – Xcel Energy, CenturyLink & Ute Water Work (CDOT Project)

  • Expect lane shifts, possible detours and traffic delays
  • Flaggers will be on site to assist motorists
  • Please slow down through construction zone
  • Work hours will be 7am – 5pm, Monday – Friday
  • Anticipated completion for the utility work– late February.

Rim Rock Drive (partial closure for construction)–Colorado National Monument Project

This project will consist of three phases between now and July 31, 2018.  The first part of the project involves road construction between Highland View Overlook and Artist Point Overlook.

  • Passenger vehicles must turn around at either Highland View Overlook or Artist Point Overlook
  • Oversize vehicles and those pulling trailers must turn around at 16 ½ Road or Independence Monument View
  • Anticipated completion for this first phase will be late February

I-70 Exit 49 Grand Mesa Ramp Improvement Project- CDOT Project

  • Monday – Wednesday: Intermittent single-lane closures for both east and westbound I-70 traffic
  • Thursday – Friday: Westbound on ramp shoulder closure @ Grand Mesa Exit 49
  • Please obey the speed limit reduction of 50 mph and construction road signs
  • Work hours will be 7am – 5pm, Monday – Friday
  • Anticipated completion – late September 2018.
