City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions
1st Street Reconstruction – Ouray Avenue to North Avenue
- Day work will continue as crews finalize the project so please slow down, there will be lane shifts and flaggers when needed
- Access to all businesses will be maintained
- Anticipated completion – early July 2017
2017 Street Resurfacing Project (night work hours – 6pm to 7am)
Tuesday and Wednesday Night – D Road from 31 Road to 32 Road
Wednesday and Thursday Night – 25 Road from I-70B to Patterson Road
- Streets will remain open during paving operations
- Expect traffic shifts and intermittent lane closures
- Flaggers will be on site to assist motorists
Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions
29 ½ Road Bridge Replacement over Grand Valley Irrigation Canal – CDOT/Mesa County Project
- 29 ½ Road is closed to through traffic between Orchard Avenue and Patterson Road
- Access provided for local residents
- Detour route is in place

Colorado National Monument – National Park Service Project
- National Park Service staff will be making repairs to the rock guard walls along Rim Rock Drive at various locations throughout the Monument
- There will be alternating one-lane traffic through the construction zones, weekdays between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm
- Expect up to 10-minute delays – flaggers will be onsite to assist motorists
- Anticipated completion- Late June 2017
- Starting Tuesday June 20: Water line replacement project at the east (Grand Junction) entrance to the Colorado National Monument
- Motorists can expect alternating one-lane traffic with possible 5 to 10-minute delays between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm daily
- Flaggers will assist visitors through construction zone
- Access will remain open to Devil’s Kitchen picnic area
- Anticipated completion – Late June 2017.
I-70 Beavertail Tunnel Lighting Project (east of Palisade) – CDOT Project
- Be aware of speed limit reduction throughout construction zone set at 35 mph
- Monday, Motorists can expect possible delays on eastbound I-70 near the Beavertail Tunnel due to higher volumes of traffic from fans leaving Country Jam
- Eastbound I-70 traffic will be detoured onto service road. No vehicle parking or bicycling on the service road.
- Both west and eastbound traffic can expect single-lane closures
- Project hours will be weekdays 7am – 5pm

Utility Pole Replacement Project, (Orchard Avenue from 12th Street to 28 Road) – Xcel Energy Project
- Intermittent lane shifts or closures during normal work hours
