Spring Means Time to Spruce Up Our Roads

Each year, spring brings flowers, JUCO and increased outdoor activities in Grand Junction. It also brings road maintenance projects that help prolong the life and safety of our streets. Streets and Traffic Division crews will be out and busy working on crack seal and filling as well as street striping projects over the next several weeks.

Each year, the City devotes resources to neighborhood pavement preservation of Grand Junction roads. This year, following the approval of ballot question 2B by voters, more will be devoted to road projects in an effort to improve the overall condition of roads. Improving road conditions in Grand Junction is a priority for City Council. Quality infrastructure contributes to quality of life and aids economic development.

Crews will be in a variety of locations across Grand Junction conducting crack seal and filling as well as road striping work. Streets will remain open to traffic while work is being performed. Please watch for crews, obey flaggers when present, use caution and do not drive across wet paint.

The first major road project that is a direct result of the passage of ballot question 2B will be an overlay of the Riverside Parkway. Work is slated to begin in July.
